“Professionals” season 2 extended or canceled? Brendan Fraser, Tom Welling star

Do the makers of professionals Do you have a possible Season 2 in your crosshairs?

A spin-off of the 2012 film soldier of fortune and created jointly by Jeff Most and Michael Colleary, professionals filmed his 10-episode run in South Africa (particularly Johannesburg) and Ireland in the summer of 2019.

The action drama follows Vincent Corbo (played by Kleinville alum Tom Welling), a top security agent who is paid to protect the interests of wealthy and powerful clients by any means necessary. When a next-generation medical satellite exploded on launch in Season 1, Corbo was helped by the rocket’s designer, billionaire futurist Peter Swann (Doom Patrol‘s Brendan Fraser), who suspected sabotage.

Season 1 wrapped up this Tuesday night in the US on The CW, which has some wondering if there’s any hope for more episodes/seasons – especially since Fraser is likely close to announcing his recent Golden Globe nomination for the acclaimed Darren Aronofsky Add Oscar nomination Theater, The whale. (Fraser and Welling are also both executive producers on the series.)

“We’re excited to produce a second season and are well advanced in developing the storyline,” professionals Co-creator Jeff Most of Jeff Most Productions told TVLine Wednesday morning. “We are working closely with our broadcast partners but no firm decision has been made yet.”

No storyline or casting details were provided.

An official co-production of the Republic of Ireland and South Africa, professionals also Stars Saïd Taghmaoui (John Wick 3), Ken Duken (Destiny: The Winx Saga), Lisa Loven Kongsli, August Wittgenstein, Stevel Marc (zeros + sharps), Tanya Van Graan (Raised by wolves) and Nic Rasenti (stranger).
