Raquel Leviss and Tom Schwartz continue romance

After last week’s epic pool party fight that ended with Katie Maloney frantically calling an Uber, the Vanderpump Rules Gang is finally heading to Mexico this week to celebrate Scheana Shay and Brock Davies’ wedding.
Of course, in this absolutely loveless show, the two’s actual wedding is the least important part of this already dysfunctional journey.
Before the wedding festivities begin, though, there’s still work to be done in LA, like another tasting of the Schwartz & Sandy menu (yawn) and a “tea party” at Lisa Vanderpump’s house, which is actually a surprise bridal shower for Scheana. But first we see another scene of James Kennedy ranting about his ex-fiancé Raquel Leviss.
As Raquel and Tom Sandoval’s scandalous affair — and perhaps even their current relationship, according to reports following the recent taping of the show’s cast reunion — continues to fuel the news cycle, VPR Both casual and dedicated fans are tuning in to the show in large numbers, hoping for hints of gossip related to the controversy. Wednesday night’s final episode featured plenty of drama when it comes to the intricate relationship dynamics between the tangled webs of the parties involved – including not only Leviss and Sandoval, but also their respective exes, including James, Tom Schwartz and Ariana Madix.
If it hasn’t already been proven, James is clearly not doing well with his ex-fiancée’s rise to prominence. During a conversation with his father Andros, the DJ nearly breaks the fourth wall, explaining that he “was here first”. Andros repeats that Raquel is on “his”. [James’] Speed.” (Big.) We can expect James’ head to explode when As Raquel Leviss will inevitably air on Bravo in the fall.
At Schwartz & Sandy’s the toms *drum roll please* still aren’t ready to open! At first it seemed like Greg, her business partner, was deliberately stalling to collect rental money and possibly audition for herself bar rescue show. But in this scene we see Schwartz hand her manager Brett a drinks menu that doesn’t have any cocktail names or prices on it, and I have to wonder what these two do every day from 9 to 5.
On camera, at least, they fill their faces with possible menu options, and Katie surprisingly receives an invite to this second round of tastings. (Greg said the first round was too lax.) Katie and Schwartz reconciled because Katie is obsessed with an amicable divorce, even though they couldn’t even have an amicable marriage. Everyone oohs and ahhs over shrimp fritters and lobster corn dogs.
Ally Lewber, James’ girlfriend, manages to break free from James’ grasp to have lunch with Ariana, Scheana and Lala Kent. Of course, nobody really spends time getting to know Ally because Lala has to have the last word in her fight with Raquel last week. Unfortunately, all she can do is shame Raquel for wearing a bikini to a pool party. Scheana also talks about her wedding plans, which as of this scene don’t include the newly inaugurated Ally. Afterwards, Ariana informs Scheana about a “tea party” that Lisa is hosting at Villa Rosa.
Then we have an emotional scene with Lala, which is always hard to stomach, but especially so seconds after she said Raquel “looked like a prostitute”. In addition, she has a heart-to-heart with Brock, who she had a falling out with last season after (rightly) revealing his sketchy past to the group, including a domestic violence charge. Lala apologizes for how she handled the situation, despite the fact that it’s the only morally right thing to do over the past four seasons.
We then make our way to Villa Rosa for Scheana’s surprise bridal shower, which isn’t a huge surprise since Scheana spots her sister’s car before she gets in. But it’s always great to see Lisa anxiously hosting a bunch of broke millennials in her house. The cast also welcomes Scheana with their hit song “Good As Gold.”
Overall, the event is pretty tame. However, James has one too many pumptinis and won’t stop professing his love for Ally in worrying ways, including repeatedly stating he wants her to have his “blue-eyed babies”. Lisa accurately tells him that he sounds like a dictator. James also asks Lala, who has been publicly wary of his new relationship, about proposing to Ally in Mexico, which deeply offends her. With every interaction between James and Lala this season, it becomes clearer that these two evil people are soul mates. They certainly have more chemistry with each other than they did with their two flames this season.
Speaking of chemistry (or lack thereof), Raquel and Schwartz have a boring conversation on some lounge chairs. And at the afterparty at Schwartz & Sandy’s, they randomly explore the men’s room. Given the Scandoval, many fans are speculating that these two fabricated their romance to distract from Raquel’s affair with Sandoval. And it’s hard to see her robot flirting with that theory in mind. I don’t put it above Schwartz to seriously pursue Raquel. But sober (or at least not quite so drunk) Raquel looks less than horny around this man.
Before everyone flies to Mexico, James asks Scheana and Brock to let Ally attend the wedding ceremony and they oblige him. Most of the cast arrive at Dreams Natura Resort and Spa, including Katie and fellow uninvited guest Kristina Kelly. Scheana later mentions that she was offended when Kristina giggled with former cast member Stassi Schroeder 10 years ago when she compared her crop-top wedding dress to a “shabby-girl quinceanera” because she’s half-Mexican. It’s shocking that Bravo even resurfaces this clip, considering you could do a 10-minute supercut from all the racially offensive comments Stassi made on the show.
Anyway, Katie is stunned to find out that Scheana has moved her and Kristina to another tower. And Brock has everyone shouting her wedding hashtag #HoneyIDo. (why does this exist?)
The first of the inevitable 50 pre-wedding celebrations is dinner at an IKEA-themed restaurant. But before the group sits down, James has already checked out one of Brock’s Aussie friends for what Lala says he gave him “an annoying drunk hug”. To be fair, Brock’s house friends have proven irritating in the past when one of them was touchy with Charli [last name] last season. If it’s the same guy, I have no sympathy. However, Ariana is really pissed about it. And she and James start yelling and clapping at each other.
A humiliated ally storms out. Raquel grins because she no longer has to be ashamed of James. And we end with another deeply unnecessary “To Be Continued…”
