Ratings: ‘Yellowstone’ sets premiere audience records, key demos

yellowstone opened Season 5 with a bang on Sunday night.
The Kevin Costner-led neo-western has posted double-digit gains in major demos since its Season 4 premiere last November, while also garnering its largest premiere audience ever.
In Live+Same Day numbers, the season 5 premiere on Paramount Network drew a total of 8.8 million viewers (up 10 percent year-on-year), while the 18-34 demo grew 52 percent, the 18-49 demo up Up 22 percent and 13 percent up in the 25-54 demo.
For comparison, the most-watched drama on TV, NCISaverages 6.6 million weekly viewers on Live+Same Day numbers (and 9.7 million on Live+7 viewing).
When you collapse yellowstone Simulcasts on CMT, TV Land and Pop, the Season 5 premiere, grew to 10.3 million viewers, up 8 percent from last year’s premiere. Meanwhile, demo gains were 55 percent (in 18-34), 27 percent (18-49), and 17 percent (25-54).
Finally, if you also add Sunday night encores to the premiere, the yellowstone Audiences swell to 12.1 million (up 7 percent YoY), while demo gains are a robust 53 percent (in 18-34), 25 percent (18-49), and 15 percent (25-54).
