ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) – The Tampa Bay Rays helped a 19-year-old with a heart defect fulfill his dream of meeting manager Kevin Cash.

Austin Majors was born with Ebstein anomaly and received a heart transplant at three months old, the team said. He was later diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, autism, scoliosis and epilepsy and has been deaf for a year.

The majors met with Erik Neander, president of baseball operations, to sign a symbolic contract. According to the team, he also received a tour of the clubhouse and helped deliver the lineup card before Friday’s game.

The Rays defeated the Seattle Mariners 7-4.
