RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC)– A registered sex offender has been arrested after attempting to molest a teenage girl at a Riverside school.

According to the Riverside Police Department, 32-year-old Logan Nighswanger jumped a school fence and entered the girls’ bathroom at McAuliffe Elementary School on Friday afternoon.

A campus warden told police he heard a girl cry and saw Nighswanger come out of the toilet, jump other fences and drive away in a car.

Investigators later tracked the vehicle down to a shop in Placentia where the car was registered and took Nighswonger into custody.

He was committed to the Robert Presley Detention Center for attempted sexual activity with a child under the age of 10 and as a registered on-site sex offender. He was held without bail.
