Resident Evil Village PSVR2 Port Revealed, Fans Demand DLC Details

Following the success of Resident Evil 7 VR, Capcom is ready to bring Resident Evil Village to PlayStation VR2 as well

Released back in 2021, Resident Evil Village had to carry on the baton from Resident Evil 7, which wasn’t easy considering the incredibly high standard the title sets. However, it lived up to expectations and surpassed its predecessor in terms of its success on several fronts. Resident Evil Village was a direct sequel to Resident Evil 7 and put players back in the role of Ethan Winters as he embarks on a journey to save his daughter.

Today, in PlayStation’s latest State of Play, Capcom announced its plans to bring Resident Evil Village to PlayStation VR2. In the trailer, fans will see Ethan Winters and also an up-close encounter with Lady Dimitrescu, the terrifying yet heartbreaker of many.

As it stands, the game looks quite similar to the regular Resident Evil Village, which isn’t a surprise considering Capcom doesn’t make many changes to their games’ VR rates. Apart from the short trailer, we don’t get to see much of the game. In fact, the release date is missing as well. It could very well be a launch title for the PlayStation VR2, or we could see a release date announced once VR2 launches.

In addition to the immersive VR experience, players will also be given the opportunity to use a number of features in Resident Evil Village VR. In a blog post, Sony adds: “In addition to the PS VR2 headset, you will use the PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers to represent every hand in the world. Try to protect with both arms and Ethan will do it the same way. Hold up a gun and Ethan will hold his. You can now also perform dynamic actions, e.g. Such as firing your gun while holding a knife in the other hand, or holding a pistol in one hand and a shotgun in the other. These advanced controllers increase player immersion in the game.” Resident Evil Village PSVR2 Port Revealed, Fans Demand DLC Details
