Rhaenyra will have more fun in future episodes, says Milly Alcock

house of the dragon takes game of Thrones fans back into the deep history of the Targaryen family. We’re just beginning to meet the generation that ruled 172 years before Daenerys, and it’s already compelling. On house of dragon, Rhaenyra has quite a journey ahead of her and actress Milly Alcock says it won’t be all trauma and drama.

Alcock was a guest on the house of the dragon Podcast for Episode 3, “Second of His Name,” on September 4th. She talked about how Rhaenyra would get a chance to let loose and have fun in Westeros. New episodes of house of the dragon Premieres Sundays on HBO.
Rhaenyra had more fun before her mother died
house of the dragon introduced Rhaenyra on her dragon. Her mother tried to convince her to take a husband, but Rhaenyra didn’t want that. And she did well with her rebellious spirit. When her mother unfortunately died during childbirth, a whole new game of thrones began.

Her father, King Viserys (Paddy Considine), needed an heir, so the search began. He considered Rhaenyra to be the first Targaryen queen. Ultimately, Viserys decided to marry Alicent (Emily Carey) so that she could produce a male heir. This not only took her throne away from her, but also Rhaenyra’s best friend.
Rhaenyra will literally and figuratively fight her battles in House of the Dragon.
Rhaenyra had to get serious pretty quickly. Outside of her castle, she also faces her uncle Daemon (Matt Smith). Alcock said Rhaenyra will still find some moments for recklessness. Hopefully Alcock gets to play her. Emma D’Arcy joins the cast in Episode 6 to play an older Rhaenyra.

“I think there’s a certain playfulness to Rhaenyra that’s been really fun to explore,” Alcock said on the house of the dragon podcast. “And we see her allowing herself to have fun as she gets older because she understands what’s at stake, which means she behaves differently in certain situations, but also means she lets herself go when.” she doesn’t have to be so serious.”
What does Airy Rhaenyra look like?
Rhaenyra still had moments of frivolity in the first three episodes. She got to enter a tournament and see Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel) as the best daemon. Alcock said Rhaenyra would also bring her rebellion into political discussions.
“For example, it teaches her how to read a room better, and it was so much fun just being cheeky,” Rhaenyra said.
This will be fun to watch now. Rhaenyra was already making her mark in Viserys’ court and was not intimidated by any of the elders into influencing her father. It didn’t quite work, but everyone in Westeros is so serious. It’s about time a little cheeky sarcasm broke the Game of Thrones.
