‘RHOA’ producer reveals if Nene leaks could ever return after slamming Andy Cohen with allegations of discrimination

The real housewives of Atlanta Producer Carlos King provided insight into the ongoing discrimination battle between executive producer Andy Cohen and Nene Leakes.
Leaks are suing Bravo, Cohen, NBCUniveral and the RHOA Production company for creating a “workplace culture where racially insensitive and inappropriate behavior is tolerated — if not, encouraged,” according to the court filing (via People). Leakes believes she was the target of “systemic racism” from others RHOA co-stars and is now being blacklisted in the entertainment business.
Is there a future for Nene Leakes on “RHOA”?
Leakes took a hard line with her lawsuit, so could there ever be a future with Bravo again? “I think there’s a conversation that needs to be had between Nene and Andy,” King said on the Behind the velvet rope with David Yontef podcast.
“Andy recently said that afterwards [husband] Greg passed, he approached Nene and the two exchanged pleasantries,” King recalled. But: “He didn’t want to go into detail because he said he didn’t want to say anything that she might not want to talk about.”
“So to me, that shows the door’s cracked open a bit,” he added.
Carlos King says Andy Cohen and Nene Leakes have a lot of love for each other
King believes Leakes and Cohen could someday find common ground. “And officially, I told Nene, I think at the end of the day, she and Andy should have a face-to-face conversation so he can hear how she’s feeling from her own mouth,” he said.
Cohen and Leakes deal with hurt feelings because they share a strong bond. “And I said I can promise if he hears you and you hear from him because I know them both really well,” King said of Leakes and Cohen’s connection.

“They love each other so much, so much,” King said. “And I know exactly how much Nene loved Andy. She kept talking to me about him, how much she adored him.”
“And he knows that. Because I told him. I believe once these two have a face-to-face conversation everything will be fine. Because the stuff he says to me… I like talking to him. I think it’s like just having a conversation with him. King added, “I think it’s so fixable. I really do. I really want them to talk.”
Nene Leakes got bigger than “RHOA”
King admitted that Leakes ended up getting bigger than RHOA. But he said there is no guide to show her how to deal with the meteoric rise she has experienced.

“And when people say that Nene thinks she’s bigger than the show, Nene always felt, yes, her presence on the show was larger than life,” he noted. “And she’s definitely the face of this franchise. I think what happened is that there’s no rule book or instruction manual that teaches people how to deal with that level of fame.
“But Nene was the star,” he added. “I think after the first season, she and people can argue with me Atlanta housewivesNene became the face of housewives. And I think all that pressure does something to someone. And I definitely think it did a lot to her.”
