Riverside police save Christmas for a single mother after a home break-in

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC)– Some Riverside police officers saved Christmas for a family whose presents were stolen from right under their tree.
Police say the single mother and her two sons returned to their home on Christmas Eve to find all their presents were gone.
In video released by the Riverside Police Department, an officer can be heard telling the woman: “We have told all our dispatchers and officers what happened to you. And so we all found some money for you. So, that’s from a lot of us. There’s $700 in cash…hopefully it helps.”
The woman burst into tears and hugged all the officers.
Officers also retrieved additional toys collected at the station, and Riverside firefighters followed with more a few hours later.
