Together with Greta Gerwigs Barbiein which she stars and produces, and a behind-the-scenes reunion Promising young woman to produce director Emerald Fennell salt burn, it looks like she’s righting the ship with this Hollywood staple. The concept and talent also seem to have inspired the studios – Deadline reports that Amazon beat four very fierce competitors to secure the rights.

The excitement is understandable considering Robbie is teaming up with two undisputed romcom queens to give us a new twist on this well-known concept. An excellent sign is that the film, which is currently untitled, was developed by Max Barbakow, who will also direct. The call for his latest pitch shouldn’t come as a surprise given his previous success at film auctions – 2020 PalmSprings sold for a record sum at Sundance.

Barbakow’s next film is expected to be Legendary Entertainment’s Brothers, a Twinssounding feature film starring Josh Brolin and Peter Dinklage. Based on the irreverent sci-fi comedy by PalmSprings While winning plaudits for frontrunners Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti, there are good signs that this two-hander can make up for Robert and Aniston’s last shared credit.

Yes, this won’t be the first time the pair have worked together, although it’s perhaps a slur to say they’ve been on set together too much. In the flood of romantic ensemble comedies is the dramedy 2016 Mother’s Day featured both actors and gave them starring roles alongside Kate Hudson and Jason Sudeikis on the poster.
