RuneScape’s Kickstarter board game has already grossed nearly half a million dollars

if you wanted RuneScape-inspired board game, today’s good news is that this is absolutely definitely happening now. Steamforged Games, the company making the title with the backing of Jagex, launched the Kickstarter yesterday and is on track to raise $500,000 as of this writing. With an initial request of just under $126,000, that’s a pretty big success story, although it probably won’t ease the concerns of people wondering why Jagex didn’t fund the board game directly themselves. However, the cross-promotions definitely seem to have helped.
Meanwhile, over in the old school world RuneScapethe latest mobile client improvements are live if you can’t stand being apart from old school RuneScape even for the duration of an entire train journey. (Or if you want to play RuneScape in the pauses between turns of RuneScape Board game, we assume.) New improvements include buff bars, chat improvements, respawn timers, and increased view range. New features are also being added to the C++ client, so while the content may be the same, the quality of life for accessing the game seems to be continually improving.
