Ryan Reynolds made sure he was prepared for proper etiquette before meeting King Charles III.

“Thus cried the King of England,” revealed 46-year-old Reynolds on Tuesday, September 5. Season 2 teaser its FX series, Welcome to Wrexham, with Rob McElhenney. “We went to the monarchy boot camp. It was like the military, except the pinky is always up.”

Reynolds and McElhenney, 46, can be seen in the trailer who co-own football team Wrexham AFC – and details how they were preparing to introduce themselves to 74-year-old Charles after the monarch called them.

“Rob and Ryan are given a crash course in royal etiquette. FX’s “Welcome to Wrexham” returns 9.12 on FX. “Stream on @hulu,” the show’s official social media pages captioned the trailer, which includes: The duo hires a trainer to help them walk, shake hands and sit properly when they are in the company of the king.

“I feel like a serial killer,” Reynolds quips while remaining silent in one clip while their trainer tells them, “Everything starts with a first impression.”

Welcome to Wrexhamwhich premiered in August 2022, follows Reynolds and McElhenney as they learn to run the third oldest professional football club in the world, which they bought in 2020. Season 1 of the docuseries chronicled the pair’s crash course in football club ownership, ending with the team rising in the rankings and gaining promotion to the English Football League for the first time in 15 years.

“Rob and I sort of passed out at that moment but somehow we’ll never forget it,” Reynolds wrote on Instagram along with a clip of him and the It’s Always sunny in Philadelphia Star hugs after her club won the national championship in April.

Season 2, which will air on Tuesday September 12, will chronicle how Wrexham is living up to growing expectations of the team, the pressure the club is facing to rise and what happens when Reynolds and McElhenney become King Charles face yourself.

Since buying the team, Reynolds has joked about becoming a mentor to his players off the field. As his wife Blake LivelyWhen he visits the AFC clubhouse, he has to remind player Ollie Palmer how to behave.

“Every time we come as a family and stuff, we go into the dressing room, and Ollie is the first guy that comes out of that dressing room totally shirtless to have a conversation with my wife,” Reynolds said during a May- Consequence of the “Fearless in devotionPodcast. “I’m always like, ‘Ollie, put on an Af-King shirt and come out like a gentleman.'”

Reynolds has brought 35-year-old Lively and her children to various occasions to watch the Wales football team play. The couple, who tied the knot in 2012, are proud parents to daughters James, 8, Inez, 6, Betty, 3, and a fourth child, whom they gave birth to earlier this year. Most recently, the couple took a selfie on the football pitch after Wrexham beat York City Club in March.

Almost 20,000 people passed the gates of the racetrack grounds. @wrexham_afc won – but the main event was @wrexhamafcwomen winning it all and lifting the big shiny trophy,” Reynolds captioned a series of photos from the game. “These women did their best and @robmcelhenney and I couldn’t be more proud and smothered.”
