Sammy Root was seen bonding with the Love Island star just days after his shock split from ex-girlfriend Jess Harding

LOVE Island star Sammy Root was spotted looking friendly with Faye Winter at an awards show last night.

The 22-year-old split from girlfriend Jess Harding just last week after winning the dating show together about the Summer.

But he put the breakup behind him when he attended the event Proud of Britain Awards and managed to avoid meeting Jess.

Sammy was seen putting his arm around a giggly Faye, who is also a Love Island alum, as they waited for a taxi.

Last week, Sammy released a statement on social media confirming that he and Jess had gone their separate ways and had been “blindsided” by this News.

He said the news of their split had come as a “shock”, adding: “To be clear: I wanted at least a face-to-face conversation to see if our relationship could be saved and felt that this would be a respectful way forward.”

“We had the most incredible experience winning Love Island and I really saw one Future with Jess. I was committed and respectful of our relationship. Unfortunately, things don’t always work out the way you’d hoped.

Jess later broke her silence and said: “I really don’t want to go into detail and make a big statement, but we’re just very different and behave differently and that’s it.”

Faye has been single since her split from Teddy Soares earlier this year.

They had been dating and living together since their third place on Love Island in 2021.
