Schitt’s Creek actress Emily Hampshire apologizes for Johnny Depp-Amber Heard’s Halloween costume

Emily Hampshire has “REALLY” regrets about her Halloween costume choice this year.
The Schitt’s Creek alum took to social media on Wednesday to apologize profusely for dressing up as Johnny Depp and Amber Heard with a friend. Hampshire posted photos of her costume – complete with fake tattoos and a wine bottle – with her friend posing next to her as a crying Heard.
After there was widespread outrage online, the actor deleted the pictures.
“I want to address something that is among the most thoughtless, insensitive and ignorant things I have ever done,” Hampshire said in her statement Wednesday. “For Halloween I stupidly thought it would be fun to dress up as Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. I am deeply sorry and ashamed for bringing something so terrible into the universe.”
She continued: “Domestic violence is never funny. These are real problems with real people and I REALLY regret my actions. I will do better in the future. I am so sorry.”
During the hit CBC show, Hampshire played motel clerk Stevie Budd, who clashes with the formerly wealthy Rose family and eventually befriends them after they move to the eponymous town of Schitt’s Creek.
