Colorectal cancer, also known as colorectal cancer, is one of the most common and deadliest types of cancer.

It often goes unnoticed until later stages because it develops slowly and can hide its symptoms well.

Until it is discovered, treatment options are often limited, which is why the mortality rate is high. Therefore, it is really important to find ways to detect and treat this cancer as early as possible.

How probiotics could help

A group of scientists at the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have investigated a new way to prevent colon cancer using probiotics, which are good bacteria that live in our intestines.

They have found that the type of bacteria in our gut can influence whether or not we get colon cancer. This is a big deal because it means we can potentially use these good bacteria to prevent the disease.

Researchers have developed a new type of probiotic bacteria that can survive the harsh conditions in our stomach and reach the intestines.

They found that these specific probiotics can slow the growth of cancer cells by more than 50% in mice and by more than 70% in human cells. This is a better result than other similar studies.

Make it even more effective

The really exciting thing is that the researchers didn’t just stop at probiotics.

They also used a special type of radiation therapy in addition to the probiotics and found that this combination treatment increased the survival rate of mice with colon cancer by 50% compared to those that did not receive this combination treatment.

By studying the bacteria and other substances in the gut, they were able to figure out how this combination treatment stops cancer.

This means that we could use this approach in the future to prevent and treat colorectal cancer more accurately.

What this means for the future

This research has added a new option to the toolbox for fighting colon cancer. By combining specialized radiation therapy with probiotics, doctors may be able to offer a new type of treatment that is more effective than those currently available.

And since probiotics are generally safe and easy to take, this could be a game-changer in the fight against colon cancer.

Although more research is needed, the study has laid the foundation for a new, more effective way to combat this dangerous disease.
