LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. (KABC) — A security guard was shot and at least one person of interest was arrested in a Laguna Hills neighborhood Tuesday morning.

The shooting was reported around 11 a.m. near Saddle Rock Place and Bridlewood Drive, near Oso Parkway and the 5 Freeway.

When officers arrived, they found the unidentified security guard shot to death in his vehicle. Authorities told Eyewitness News he was shot in the upper body and may have been hit multiple times. He was hospitalized in unknown condition.

AIR7 HD was over the scene during the investigation and captured a large police force blocking several streets.

Authorities said a person of interest was arrested, but a weapon was not found.

“He surrendered peacefully and at this time investigators are conducting an investigation to locate this weapon,” said Mike Woodruff of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
