Selling the timeline of Mary Fitzgerald and Romain Bonnet from Sunset
A Netflix love story. Sell Sunset has had a core relationship anchoring the real estate drama since season 1 Mary Fitzgerald And Romain Bonnetwhich makes sense since the two met at the house tour.
“Romain flew off to look at some houses in the area and I was his agent!” Fitzgerald revealed women health in August 2020. “From then on we got on well. His modeling agency encouraged him to move because of the many bookings in the LA area.”
The French model is 12 years younger than her love, but that didn’t stop their romance from quickly getting hot and intense.
The duo secretly married in March 2018, just months before they began filming the Netflix series. Us weekly confirmed in August 2020 that the couple was already married before Bonnet proposed in late 2020 Sell Sunset Season 1 and before their marriage in Season 2. However, the stars’ rep said no one knew the two made things official so early on.
“They decided not to tell their friends or family as they were still trying to figure out if their relationship would work in the long run,” the rep said Us at that time. “In her eyes, they weren’t really married until the wedding, which was filmed during the show.”
While their marriage was secret, their feelings were anything but secret. Bonnet gushed about his love weeks before their public wedding.
“Deep down, we have no control over our emotions. Loving is sharing, helping and supporting those around us we truly love,” he wrote via Instagram in September 2019. “With @themaryfitzgerald, like everyone, we have our ups and downs, but this girl damn she’s special!” She makes me so happy every day. When you find the person who makes you so happy, life becomes wonderful and a lot more fun. 🙏🏼❤️.”
The couple doesn’t hide their feelings and even opens up about their insecurities when it comes to expanding their family. Fitzgerald welcomed son Austin Babbitt when she was just 16 years old.
“We are preparing to freeze our embryos,” said the South Dakota native Us exclusively in late March 2022. “I feel like I’ve been saying this for about two years, and I just keep hesitating. I’m not really sure. I’m still unsure if I want to have another child or not, but I know I don’t want him to miss this chance. So we’re going to freeze the embryos. … Maybe in a few years I’ll be ready.”
As of December 2022, the couple was still on their fertility journey.
“We did a round of freezing embryos, it didn’t work,” Fitzgerald said exclusively Us at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards. “But I’m thinking ahead [Selling Sunset] Season 6, you will see why what happened. We didn’t manage to finish that, so let’s just try it naturally now.”
The real estate agent also gushed about what a “great dad” her partner would be. “He’s so loving, responsible and considerate, so he’ll be great with a kid,” she said.
