College Girls Sex Life‘ Kimberly has landed another campus hottie.
In Thursday’s episodes, the college student was locked out of her room after a medical procedure that left her feeling unwell. Thankfully, Jackson, the stud next door, sweetly came to her rescue and offered his dorm room as a resting place until her roommates showed up. But by letting Jackson take care of her while she was unwell, Kimberly became “med-zoned,” which led Jackson to view Kimberly as ailing, Leighton explained. So much for finding her hot, right? Not so fast!
Approaching Jackson at a party, Kimberly explained that he didn’t need to keep asking her how she was because she was fine and “she was ready.” anything‘ she emphasized. Cut to the two doing it in Jackson’s room.
While Kimberly and Jackson’s chemistry has steadily built this season, her experience with Nico last season taught Kimberly that whatever happens between her and Jackson, “it doesn’t consume everything,” according to her cast member Pauline Chalamet says TVLine. “You’re not in boys’ college, especially when you’re someone who’s so dependent on your money as to whether you can stay there or not. So I think she learned from that experience with Nico [that] you don’t admit everything to the boys.”
While her feelings for Nico were “all-encompassing,” much to her own detriment, “you’ll see Kimberly entertained at Jackson’s.” [a] Relationship with someone where it’s in the back seat. That’s less of a priority for them,” says Chalamet.
So does that mean Kimberly and Jackson, who have not been short of contacts since moving to Essex, are on the same page in everything they do?
“They definitely haven’t talked about it and they don’t know what they don’t know,” says Mitchell Slaggert, who plays Jackson. “But the unknown is always so intriguing and curious, and it’s nerve-wracking. That gets your pulse going. They are both excited about the unknown.”
It also raises the question of whether Jackson is just a playboy who enjoys casual sex, or if he could also be a relationship guy. According to Slaggert, his character is both.
“There are two sides of the coin where sometimes he just wants to have fun and then when he finds that special someone it’s like he doesn’t even have the idea of looking in anyone else’s direction. He’s just shopping, and he’s a little too good at shopping,” the actor explains with a laugh.
But for all his “buying,” Jackson can’t help but be attracted to Kimberly. “It’s planted like a seed that Jackson can put his finger on that sparks his interest,” describes Slaggert.
For showrunner Justin Noble, the pairing of Slaggert’s Midwestern climate refugee and Kimberly’s small-town activist at an elite East Coast school is “a really interesting look at couples who should be working on paper,” says Noble. “They both feel like outsiders.”
But being similar, at least in terms of their backgrounds, doesn’t mean Kimberly and Jackson agree on everything.
“There’s this interesting thing that I think happens with young dating, when you think that if you bear a resemblance to someone, you’re like, ‘Oh, we’re going to be a total match,'” shares Noble, “and me think What’s interesting for them to watch throughout the season is how they find their shared vibe. They don’t always agree on issues, as Kimberly might think.”
