South Los Angeles: Baby girl found safe in Bell after SUV she was in was stolen; Suspect remains on the run

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A little girl was found safe after the car she was riding in was stolen in South Los Angeles on Wednesday.

According to police, the child was with his mother in an RAV4 near 110th Street and Wilmington Avenue when someone jumped in and stole the vehicle.

It is unclear if the vehicle was operating and left unattended at the time of the theft.

After several hours, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the Los Angeles Police Department were able to locate the vehicle in the town of Bell.

The vehicle with the baby inside was abandoned near Fishburn Avenue and Randolph Street, where the child was found safe.

The little girl has since been reunited with her mother and there is no news of injuries.

Meanwhile, the suspect remains on the run.
