Spotify Wrapped 2023 release window confirmed

For music lovers, it’s the most wonderful time of the year Spotify, similar to Santa Claus, will soon be distributing his gifts to people around the world at Christmas time. Spotify Wrapped season is upon us and users of the app will be excited to learn more about their year in music.

For those who don’t know, Spotify Wrapped is an annual event where the streaming service releases an annual compilation of what the user has listened to over the past year – including their top songs, artists and genres. The results can be fascinating, enlightening, or sometimes downright embarrassing if you tend to have a few guilty pleasures on your playlists.

The marketing campaign is certainly successful, as subscribers flock to social media to share their results with their friends, and the seasonal event has spawned countless memes – often at the expense of Apple Music users and the peer pressure that defines rival streamers. For a number of popular musicians, you may be rewarded with the knowledge that you were among the very small percentage of their top listeners of the year, which artists can reward with exclusive Spotify deals on merchandise and tickets.

When will Spotify Wrapped 2023 be released?

While Spotify hasn’t confirmed an exact release date for “Wrapped” in 2023, by looking back at past release dates we can come up with a rough estimate of when the annual event will be available to subscribers.

In 2022, Spotify Wrapped was released on November 30th. In 2021 it was December 1st, and it was also the exact same day the year before in 2020. If the pattern continues, Spotify Wrapped should be available on the first day or days and almost certainly the first week of December be . So put the date in your calendar – you should be able to unpack your dates on the same day you can open your Advent calendar.

When will Spotify stop counting songs for Spotify Wrapped?

Again, Spotify has never made a statement confirming an exact date for this. However, in 2019, an employee at the social media account Spotify Cares, an online subscriber hotline, said the deadline was October 31st.

It has also not been confirmed when Spotify Wrapped will start calculating the numbers again. Christmas music never seems to show up in the Spotify Wrapped data, which likely indicates that November and December are never included in the final total, meaning the app will likely start counting songs again on January 1st.
