Star Trek: Picard Season Finale: Is Season 4 Coming Back? Patrick Stewart

All Trekkies out there are mourning the upcoming final season of Star Trek: Picard: Maybe there is new life (and new civilizations) out there after all.

Season 3 of Picard was already announced as the final season, but executive producer Alex Kurtzman is now saying the show may indeed go ahead. “When we started the series, Patrick [Stewart] and we’ve all talked about just wanting it to be three years because we feel like we could really tell a complete story with the season you see now as our ending point,” he told reporters at the winter press tour Television Critics Association on Monday. “Looking at it that way, anything is possible. If a show bursts doors like we certainly hope and we’re very, very proud of Season 3, who knows?”

So would Patrick Stewart be ready to return as Jean-Luc Picard for another season? “If we can keep up the work we’ve done on seasons 1, 2 and 3 of Picard, then absolutely, yes,” says Stewart. “Because there is still tremendous storytelling potential in what we do and doors still remain open. We haven’t all closed.”

Season 3 – premiering Thursday, February 16 on Paramount+ – brings back Stewarts Next Generation Co-stars Michael Dorn (Worf), LeVar Burton (Geordi La Forge) and Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher). your companion TNG Alums Jonathan Frakes (Riker) and Marina Sirtis (Troi) will also return after guest-starring in Season 1, with Brent Spiner returning as… not Data, but his android brother Lore.
