‘Star Wars’ will once again bring cuteness to the Macy’s Day Parade

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade begins today at 9 a.m. ET, and as usual, many of your favorite popular culture characters will be floating through the streets of Manhattan. In 2021 we saw Ada Twist, Ronald McDonald, Pikachu and Eevee as balloons, but the highlight was a gigantic Funko Pop! inspires Grogu out war of starsThe Mandalorian.

Now it looks like everyone’s favorite Pint Size Force user is returning for his second straight year, with pictures of the swimmer’s prep showing Grogu inflated and sandbagged but still ready for action:

He is joined by Bluey, Greg Heffley from Diary of Wimpy Kida Minion, Papa Smurf, Goku, Smokey the Bear, SpongeBob SquarePants and the Sinclair Oil Corporation dinosaur mascots.

With the excellent Andor now complete, the next big one war of stars Live action release will be The Mandalorian‘s third season, which will air sometime in February 2023. Disney Plus viewers were recently reminded how adorable Grogu can be in the Studio Ghibli short Grogu and Dust Bunnypublished in the service on the third anniversary of The Mandalorian‘s debut episode.

Surprisingly, Grogu’s 2021 float was a first for such a gargantuan franchise war of stars was ever in the parade, although there might not be too many characters that lend themselves so well to being transformed into giant floats. Still, in the past we would have liked to have seen Darth Vader flying over Times Square, or maybe BB-8 (which could easily be realized at least as a balloon).

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will be broadcast live on NBC and Peacock beginning at 9:00 a.m. ET. until noon.
