Stardew Valley creator teases hats for cats and dogs in update 1.6

Stardew Valley Update 1.6 promises to bring new features and game content to Farm Simulator, along with other fun things like stylish hats for your cat or dog.

The hats were teased today by the game’s creator, Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, on the social networking site X.

As you can see in the cover photo, there will be at least three hats and a big blue bow that will give your pets a special fashion sense. It’s pretty sweet.

Update 1.6 was announced in June 2022 and will include a major new festival, two mini-festivals, and new late-game content that expands every skill area.

There will be new items and crafting recipes, over 100 new content lines, winter outfits for the villagers, a new type of reward for completing poster requests, a new farm type, new secrets, PC support for up to 8 players in multiplayer, and more.

There is currently no release date for Update 1.6.

Stardew Valley is currently available on multiple platforms and has sold over 20 million copies since its initial release on PC in 2016, including 13 million copies for PC alone.

ConcernedApe’s next game is Haunted Chocolatier. Little is known about this other than that there will be boss fights and exploring “fantastic possibilities” with experiences that take you beyond the usual. Like Stardew Valley, it will also involve gathering ingredients, but unlike the farming aspect, you will be making chocolate and running a shop.

The game, which is still in early development, was only announced for PC, but will also be released for other major platforms.
