Stray release date confirmed, available on PS Plus on July 19th

Almost two years have passed since then Stray was revealed first and now we have a release date. The latest title to be released by indie darling Annapurna appeared during Sony’s Future of Gaming 2020 event, however there has been relatively little information since then.

That was until Sony kicked off Summer Game Fest 2022 with a brand new State of Play that not only included an exciting new trailer for the game, but also the release date and some interesting news for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

What is Stray

Stray is a third-person adventure game in which players take control of a stray cat living in a futuristic, cyberpunk-style world.

Players explore, solve puzzles and platforms as they try to return home and reunite with their family. The title is also said to incorporate stealth elements into a highly detailed, atmospheric and hostile environment.

The title is being developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive.

Stray release date details have been revealed

During the trailer, viewers not only got a deeper look at some of the gameplay elements, enemies, and world-building of the title, but also got a release date. One that is in the very near future.

The title is slated for release on July 19, 2022 on PC, PS4, and PS5. In just over a month.

Alongside this, Sony noted that PS Plus members who have subscribed to the Extra tier or higher will be able to download Stray at no extra cost once it launches. It seems like they’re already adding value to their new tier system, which is due to roll out to the West later this month.
