Strictly on Fresh Fix series as angry fans slam show judges for ‘overrating’

STRICTLY Come Dancing fans have criticized the judges for “overrating” a contestant.
BBC One viewers were left frustrated after actor Nigel Harman scored high for his performance despite “catching up” for most of the performance.
Despite Nigel’s impressive salsa last Saturday, his foxtrot left the judges unimpressed as they noticed his imprecise footwork.
Nevertheless, the actor and his professional dance partner Katya Jones managed to score an impressive 29 out of 40 points.
Speaking to presenter Claudia Winkleman about his misadventures, Nigel said: “Maybe I got off on the wrong foot and kicked Katya and then made the rest up for a while.”
He continued: “So it’s a bit disappointing because we’ve had a great week. But it’s live, it’s going to happen.”
Katya added: “Even then you just guided me. I don’t know what we came up with, but he led and I followed.”
Fans of the show were quick to criticize the judging, with one fan accusing the judges of “nepotism.”
Another frustrated fan wrote: “So Nigel messes up the whole routine and gets 7s and 8s. If Ellie or Angela S did that they would get F’s… SO unfair.”
Another echoed: “The favoritism is honestly ruining some weeks for me (like this week). Bobby, Nigel and Angela R were completely overrated and completely unfair.”
A third agreed: “I’m tired of Angela Scanlon being overly judged and underrated while others like Nigel and Layton are overrated.”
It comes after fans accused head judge Shirley Bassey of having a show favourite.
The judge also came under fire for giving low ratings to female celebrities.
In this series, Shirley gave Zara McDermott, Ellie Leach and Angela Rippon the lowest scores out of all four judges
Shirley was even booed by the BBC1 show’s studio audience in a recent episode, with one TV insider saying: “Her scoring surprised many.”
