Strictly star Amy Dowden updates fans on her health from hospital as she continues her battle with cancer

STRICTLY star Amy Dowden has given her fans an update on her breast cancer treatment as she begins her fifth round of chemotherapy.
The brave professional dancer who is missing this year BBC Competition as she battles her illness remained upbeat in a new photo from hospital.
In it, Amy, 33, waved her hand in the mirror while standing attached to a drip.
The star who recently shaved her hair away in the midst of her treatment, wore a Pink Hoodie and black track pants.
Above the picture she wrote: “Chemo 5 [tick]”
Amy had a mastectomy in June, a month after her stage three breast cancer diagnosis.
She has since been giving her Instagram followers a glimpse into life with the disease and got emotional last week when she decided to shave her hair.
The BBC favorite, who joined Strictly in 2017, initially wanted to “keep my identity” by holding on to her locks, but after starting chemotherapy she started “losing them on a daily basis”.
After making the difficult decision to shave off her hair, Amy insisted it would “bring normality to a nice bald head.”
She wrote: “This too shall pass.
“Taking control – the hardest step yet. I tried my best to save him.”
“I know it’s just hair, but in the last few months I feel like so much has been taken away from me that I don’t feel like Amy anymore.”
Amy added: “I’m concentrating now – not on the hair I’m losing, but on the hair I’m getting back, and on the happy dancing tea lover who talks way too fast as he rolls every rrrrr he does is still there inside.” or without hair!
“Since taking control, I feel like I can now see the finish line. That was a hurdle for me that I couldn’t even think about or talk about.”
“I did it and was halfway through the chemo limit!”
I feel empowered and positive!”
