Strictly star Nikita Kanda reveals she suffered a secret injury just days before she was sacked

Former Strictly star Nikita Kanda has revealed she suffered an undisclosed injury just days before being eliminated from the competition.
The 28-year-old was the second to be eliminated from the show alongside her professional partner Gorka Marquez after failing to impress the judges with their drive.
On Sunday night’s episode, the BBC Asian Network presenter faced the dreaded dance-off against Love Island star Zara McDermott and her partner Graziano Di Prima with her Paso Doble.
Both couples performed their routines again to impress the judges, but it was Zara who was saved by all four judges, sending Nikita home.
But now Nikita revealed that she suffered a hidden injury just a day before the disappointing performance.
Nikita joined Fleur East on It Takes Two to discuss her exit from the series and gushed about taking on the role of Cher from the 1995 film Clueless.
She said: “I had so much fun, it’s so iconic. It is [set in the] 1990s, I’m a 90s baby.
“I just took whatever role I wanted and every week he helped me improve my confidence, his sass and his acting.”
That’s when the TV personality revealed she sprained her ankle during dress rehearsal on Friday night (October 6).
“I actually hurt my foot the day before and I just think I have to keep going.
“I’ve got a bandage on now, it doesn’t look particularly glamorous under the glitter.
“But, you know what? I just wanted to give 100% because that’s what you’re there for.”
“You have to give it your all and I feel like we did that. We had a lot of fun and I’m really sad that we didn’t train today.
“It felt really weird going back to radio and not seeing him for training after that.”
With the help of Gorka, Nikita shared her love for the show as she “slowly fell in love with dance.”
She said: “I really fell in love with training and learning different things every week.”
“I just do it in the kitchen now or when I’m out, it’s just me and you now.” [Gorka] really helped me with that.
