Superman & Lois: Jordan Elsass Leaves Season 3 As Jonathan Kent

Superman & Lois Star Jordan Elsass has left the CW drama ahead of Season 3corresponding diversity. Jonathan Kent is being recast.

“Jordan Elsass has notified the studio that he will not be returning Superman & Lois for Season 3 for personal reasons,” Warner Bros. Television said in a statement Tuesday. Although the exact manner of departure from Alsace is unknown, diversity reports that this is not the result of a “workplace-related issue.”

Superman & LoisThe season two finale ended with the creation of a new Fortress of Solitude intended for the whole family – powers or not.

“We’ll see if [Jonathan] gets his own suit following Nat’s example and how it all plays out,” showrunner Todd Helbing told TVLine in June. “We definitely want to bring Jonathan more into this superhero life than he has been before.”

Superman & Lois wasn’t on The CW’s fall schedule when it was unveiled in May. Season 3 takes place in mid-season along with other veteran drama The Lightning and Riverdale – both return for farewell runs.
