- The team behind 2022’s Fall is planning two sequels.
- Co-writer/director Scott Mann will produce the second and direct the third.
- The first sequel will be filmed next June.
Last year, the survival thriller “Fall” became something of a cult hit, its dizzying thrills entertaining audiences in theaters here and around the world. And in some countries it also came to Netflix (with little fanfare), but still ended up attracting a lot of viewers.
Co-writer/director Scott Mann’s film was a surprise critical and box office success – it was made for $3 million and ended up grossing more than $17 million. It also became known for its use of an AI technology called TrueSync, which converted swear words used by the main characters into more family-friendly language for publication.
What is the story of “Autumn”?
The film is about two best friends – played by “Shazam!” actress Grace Caroline Currey and “Halloween” actress Virginia Gardner – who climb 2,000 feet to the top of an abandoned radio tower and find themselves stranded with no way down. Their climbing skills are put to the test as they desperately struggle to brave the elements, the vultures, the lack of supplies and the dizzying heights.
Who else was in “Autumn”?
Although the story focused primarily on the two women, the cast also featured the likes of Mason Gooding, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jasper Cole, Darrell Dennis and Bamm Ericsen.

What do the producers say about the “Fall” sequels?
Here’s what Christian Mercuri, CEO of backer Capstone Studios, had to say:
“These two new sequels are wonderful opportunities to expand on the original. “We now want to expand the franchise even further by assembling the best team and ideas to ensure the next hair-raising, death-defying and vibrant film is available to audiences worldwide.”
And Mann, who will be closely involved in the future, said this:
“I’m really excited to continue the fall journey and take it to the next level. We have planned a truly special cinematic experience and I am very grateful to my fellow producers for supporting this vision. I’m also looking forward to working with new collaborators and reuniting with the original gang, and of course I can’t wait to film thousands of feet high again.”
The plan, according to The Hollywood Reporteris that some of the original characters return for the sequels while new ones are added. And Mann will produce the second and co-write and direct the third again, as he did the first.
