TBS reality series ‘Power Slap’ moved after Dana White slap video

White and his wife were filmed slapping each other in a club on New Year’s Eve.

Power Slap: Road to the Title, a TBS reality series based on the titular sports league and its founder Dana White, has delayed its premiere by a week following a public slap between White and his wife, IndieWire has confirmed.

The series will now premiere its first episode on January 18, having originally been scheduled to air on January 11.

On New Year’s Eve, White was filmed fighting his wife, Anne White, at Cabo San Lucas nightclub, Mexico. In the video, released by TMZ, Anne White can be seen hitting her husband before he hits her in retaliation, leading to a series of punches between them.

White, who is best known as the president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship company, issued an apology to TMZ shortly after the video was leaked.

“There was a lot of alcohol involved, but that’s no excuse. You’ve heard me say for years, there’s never an excuse for a man to touch a woman,” White told TMZ. “I literally don’t find any excuses for this thing at all. This has never happened before. It’s the first time it’s happened. People will say what they will say and it is what is. What people say is deserved. I earn it.”

Anne White also gave a statement to TMZ about the incident, saying: “Dana and I have been married for almost 30 years. To say this is out of character for him is an understatement — nothing like this has happened before. Unfortunately we both drank too much on New Year’s Eve and things got out of hand on both sides. We discussed this as a family and we apologized to each other. I just hope people respect our privacy for the sake of our children.”

Power Slap: Road to the Title is an eight-part series produced by Pilgrim Media Group that follows athletes competing in the Power Slap sports league led by White, Lorenzo Fertitta and Lionsgate division head Craig Piligian , was established title punch with the open hand instead of punches. The series follows a group of athletes from around the world who compete in the very first power slap matches and live in a casthouse. The league was formed in partnership with UFC and Endeavor.

White has been UFC President since 2001, when Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta bought the company.
