Ted’s football future and more

We are Richmond until we die! The third season finale of Ted Lasso is shaping up to be one of the biggest episodes yet – and could potentially mark the end of the popular Apple TV+ series.
The comedy series has been with us since its premiere in 2020 Jason Sudeikis has received a number of awards including 40 Emmy nominations and 11 wins. Despite the huge success of the series, the cast and creative team have hinted on numerous occasions that season 3 could be the last.
“I mean, is that it? [the end] this story? Yes, definitely,” said 47-year-old Sudeikis Weekly entertainment March. The series follows the title character of the actor who moves to the UK from the US to become the head coach of football club AFC Richmond.
While Saturday night live Alum satisfies fans’ desire for more Ted Lasso As a “compliment,” the finale seemingly becomes the thing for leads Ted, Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham), Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein), Keely Jones (Juno Temple), Nathan Shelley (Nick Mohammed), Jamie Tart (Phil Dunster), Sam Obisanya (Toheeb Jimoh) and more.
“I mean, it’s definitely the last season of this story, I can say that,” Sudeikis continued. “Everything else, you know, there’s a lot of variables in all this stuff, but what’s important is the stories, the characters.”
One of the co-creators and stars of the series, Brendan Hunt, gave some hope that the story might live on beyond this season. “For at least season three, we’re going to take a break and get away from each other’s pretty faces that we’re so tired of for a while,” said the 50-year-old We’re the Millers star Digital Spy In April. “And then everything is on the table.”
Goldstein, 42 – who is also an author Ted Lasso – said he would like to return as football legend and AFC Richmond assistant coach Roy Kent in future episodes. “[The show] definitely has an end. But I think if there were more, I would definitely be up for it,” the comedian said British GQ March.
The penultimate episode of Season 3 brought big changes for Roy and the rest of the AFC Richmond crew, including the future of Roy’s love life with Keely. The fan-favorite couple started the season apart but later rekindled their romance after Keely split from Jack (Jodi Balfour). After Roy confessed his true feelings to her in Season 3 Episode 11, it appeared Keely was about to shut up her ex before their conversation was interrupted by Jamie.
Perhaps the biggest cliffhanger ahead of the finals is Ted’s future as AFC Richmond head coach. The Kansas native seemed more homesick than ever after visiting his mom (Becky Ann Baker) in episode 11. While Rebecca couldn’t share an annual “truth bomb” with Ted, the episode ended with the coach telling his boss he had to tell her one.
The final moments of the episode suggest that Ted will be returning home to the States to be with his son Henry (Gus Turner), bringing his time in England to an end.
