Teen dies after ‘traumatic injury’ in South Austin

AUSTIN, Texas — A teenager died Wednesday night in South Austin after suffering a “traumatic injury.”

Austin-Travis County EMS said the incident happened around 8:10 p.m. near West Slaughter Lane and Wolftrap Drive. The doctors did not provide any details about the cause or nature of the injury.

CPR was performed on the teenager who was on the street, but the victim was later pronounced dead at the scene, ATCEMS said.

Motorists are being asked to avoid the area and expect road closures while officers investigate.
