The 2022 Spark of Love Toy Drive begins in Ontario, Camarillo with hundreds of toys collected

ONTARIO, Calif. (KABC)– Although it was a rainy day, many generous community members came out to donate toys to children at Friday’s Spark of Love Toy Drive at Mathis Home in Ontario and Target in Camarillo.
This was the first in a series of Stuff A Bus Toy Collection events where ABC7 viewers and attendees can donate their new, unwrapped toys or sports equipment.
The toy ride runs through December 24th.
“This is a different kind of toy ride,” said Rit Mathis. “I’ve been a part of a few of them over the years, as has everyone, but the scale of this operation is truly overwhelming.”

Toys are shipped to the Spark of Love Toy Central at Los Angeles City Fire, where they are sanitized, sorted, and distributed evenly to Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange, Ventura, and Riverside counties.
All proceeds flow into the purchase of toys or sports equipment for needy children and young people.
