If you’re a fan of the winter break and Christmas movies on Hallmark Channel in particular, you know it’s never too early to start counting down to the Countdown to Christmas, an annual event on the network. The network has so far only teased viewers with a first look at the countdown lineup to Christmas 2022. But fans can expect it to include all your favorite vacation movies, plus a few new instant classics.
To get you in the mood, here’s a countdown of the top five Hallmark Channel Christmas movies of all time, according to viewers who voted on Ranker.
5. ‘Christmas in Evergreen’ (2017)
Small-town vet and hopeless romantic Allie (Ashley Williams) is frustrated that her longtime (and long-distance) boyfriend Spencer (Marcus Rosner) isn’t encouraging his romantic side. Hoping for the most romantic Christmas ever, she makes a wish for something on a snow globe. This sets off a series of events that draw a new wannabe suitor, Ryan (Teddy Sears), to a magical Christmas tourism location called Evergreen.
4. “A Very Happy Mix-Up” (2013)
When a shopkeeper named Alice (Alicia Witt) arrives at her future in-laws’ house before her fiancé, little does she know that she has unknowingly ended up in the wrong house. A series of mishaps, mishaps, and various jokes ensure that she cannot reach Will to fix the mix-up. But the strange turn of events brings her into close contact with Matt (Mark Wiebe), a man who might actually be a perfect match for her if only fate would let her work its magic.
3. “Hidden Christmas” (2014)
Candace Cameron Bure plays Dr. Lauren Brunell, a surgeon who takes a fellowship in a small town in Alaska, where she meets a handyman named Andy Holliday (David O’Donnell). Although Lauren only takes the job to brush up on her resume, she’s slowly adjusting to life in small-town Alaska. And she’s learning the charm of a proper Alaskan Christmas (not to mention Holliday) in the process.
2. ‘Crown for Christmas’ (2015)
After being fired from her job as a hotel maid in New York City, a woman named Allie (Danica McKellar) decides to take a slightly unattractive job. She becomes the governess of a spoiled young girl named Theodora (Ellie Botterill), whose family lives in a European castle. Only after her arrival does Allie realize that Theodora is actually a princess. And her employer is the surprisingly charming King Maximillian (Rupert Penry-Jones), who is under pressure to find a wife. This romance is truly a royal Christmas treat!
1. ‘Christmas Trip’ (2017)
At the top of the list is the story of a travel writer named Emory (Bridget Regan). She decides to get away for her Christmas vacation, only to find out that her vacation rental has double-booked her with a widower named Scott (Travis Van Winkle) and his mother and daughter. What follows is a whirlwind romance with holiday flair.
The Countdown to Christmas 2022 lineup has not yet been fully announced. But there’s news about Alison Sweeney starring in a new Christmas movie titled A magical Christmas village.
