The Big Door Prize renewed for Season 2 on Apple TV+ — Chris O’Dowd

You have to see the Apple TV+ The Big Door Prizerealizing its full potential as the streamer has given the Chris O’Dowd dramedy a quick Season 2 refresh.

The pickup comes just a week after the series debuted on March 29; Episodes 1-4 are streaming now, with a new episode being released every Wednesday through May 17th.

“We’re so grateful to the audiences around the world who have already embraced the weird little hopes and dreams of our Deerfield residents, and we couldn’t be more excited about where we plan to take them in Season 2,” said the series creator, David West Read said in a statement Wednesday. “Thanks to our partners at Apple TV+ and Skydance, we have an incredible opportunity to further develop the magic and mysteries of The Big Door Prize with this truly remarkable ensemble cast.”

Based on the novel of the same name by MO Walsh The Big Door Prize tells the story of “a small town changed forever when a mysterious machine appears at the general store that promises to reveal the true life potential of each resident,” according to the official logline. bridesmaids Vet O’Dowd plays Dusty Hubbard, “a seemingly content, happy family man and high school teacher” who “watches as everyone around him re-evaluates their life choices and ambitions – based on the machine’s printouts – and is forced to… wonder if he really is as happy as he once thought. While he remains skeptical about the machine, his wife Cass (played by A black lady sketch show‘s Gabrielle Dennis), gives in to the dream that there’s something bigger out there for her. Like many Deerfield residents, the couple lived relatively safe, uncomplicated lives until the arrival of the Morpho machine. However, all of this will change as the community is forced to come to terms with its unfulfilled accomplishments in pursuit of a better future.”

The ensemble is rounded off by Ally Maki (Destroyed), Josh Segarra (The other two), Damon Gupton (Black Lightning), crystal fox (The haves and the have-nots), Djouliet Amara (Superman & Lois) and newcomer Sammy Fourlas.
