The Blue Jays use three wild pitches from the Royals to win the comeback

The near-impossible happened on Sunday at the Rogers Center during a game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Kansas City Royals.
The Blue Jays, in the midst of a race for a wild-card spot in the American League, trailed 2-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning with two outs but were threatening. Royals pitcher Cole Ragans had already thrown a wild pitch to put runners on second and third.

Toronto got going again and in the next inning Kevin Kiermaier hit a solo home run. The Blue Jays then scored two more goals and won the game 5-2.
“We have a lot of energy at the moment,” said Kiermaier. “We’re coming at the right time and we just want to keep going.”

Ragans tried to explain what happened.
“On my front leg, the bottom of my cleat just got caught in the dirt,” he said. “Basically, it trips me up so I don’t have a footing to throw the ball.”
Ragans added: “I’ve never seen it, it’s never happened to me. I don’t know it. It was just kind of a freak accident.”
