Well, Lizzo didn’t show up The Mandalorian on our 2023 bingo card. Fans were stunned, delighted and in some cases angered that the internationally popular singer/songwriter made an unexpected appearance war of stars as “The Dutchwoman”.

But maybe we should have seen this coming. Lizzo wasn’t shy about her love either The Mandalorian (and especially Grogu), as evidenced by her costume for Spotify Ghost Town Halloween Party 2021:

Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and this episode’s director, Bryce Dallas Howard, had clearly been paying attention, giving her a role that allowed her to cuddle with and eventually knight the well-loved little Force user.

Lizzo walked the streets of West Hollywood in full Grogu gear, looking so unrecognizable that people stopped for photos without knowing who she was. She later took the stage to perform in full Grogu costume and – as is usual for Lizzo – knocked them out of the park.

As early as August 2021, she was openly enthusiastic about her love war of stars and Grogu in particular. At a performance on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, She claimed to have a huge collection of Baby Yoda items and said:

“I have so many damn Baby Yodas. I have one my size… I don’t know who is sending it at this time but I am grateful.”

Well, now she must meet Grogu herself and officially enter a galaxy far, far away. We’re just impressed that both she and the show managed to keep this bombshell cameo to themselves for so long.
