CORONA, Calif. (KABC) — At the end of a car chase in Corona on Monday night, a suspect crashed into a police car, drove on the wrong side of the 91 Freeway and then ran across the roadway in a desperate attempt to evade capture.

Police made an arrest after a lengthy search after the suspect dodged oncoming traffic on 91 and ran into a nearby Denny’s restaurant.

The chaotic scene occurred after police launched a chase for a stolen work truck in La Habra.

AIR7 HD had ended the pursuit around 9:20 p.m. due to the suspect driving at a moderate speed on dirt roads in the Norco area.

The chase soon moved onto the 15 and 91 freeways and ended in the area of Maple and 6th Street. At that moment, the suspect crashed into a police cruiser as the truck was surrounded by police.

The driver crashed into a fence and ended up on the wrong side of 91. Because the truck was damaged, the suspect ran into oncoming traffic and dodged passing cars.
