The Circle Finale Recap: Who Won Season 5?

But before we pop the champagne, Wednesday’s finale (which is now streaming on Netflix) had another victim to take before the Final 5 could go head-to-head in the final ratings of the season.

After seeing a nice and very British farewell message from Tom, the group learn that the top rated player from last night’s reviews has become a secret super influencer. Thus, all power for this final block is in Chaz’s hands. But it wouldn’t be Circle Finale, if we didn’t have twists and turns! Chaz is told that he must block the last player personally. “Guess what? It’s not fucking love day anymore,” says Brett. Yeah. That part.

Unfortunately, Chaz comes knocking on the door of the very stylish, very hilarious Oliver, who’s taking the news pretty well, considering. Chaz admits to his Flirtmance that he’s (eek) engaged and that their flirting was more or less strategy (although he says he enjoyed their connection). But Oliver is a glass gentleman and it seems everything is for him.

With Oliver leaving the game, we’re left with this season’s finalists: blue-haired Raven, popular Chaz, Brooklynite Sam, catfish “Tamira” (aka Tasia), and Brett/Xanthi pretending to be “Jennifer.”

It seems a rarity that a non-Original player can win this show (yes, despite James’ win in Season 3). Is this a big game bug? Or is it just an extra challenge for later players jumping in to catch up? I digress. At this stage it seems like Chaz or Sam are losing the game, although Raven herself still appears to be in the running.

The Final 5 are re-ranked and the results are locked. When they finally meet face to face, everything between Sam and Chaz is love. Everyone is stunned by the revelation that Brett and Xanthi are actually Jennifer, and Sam admits she totally bought into “Tamira’s” makeup claims. And when Raven crashes the party, she introduces everyone to her interpreter, Paris. “Jennifer” also admits to being the hacker, and honestly that was a pretty boss move so nobody seems too shaken by the deception.

After all of their secrets are finally revealed, the host with the most, Michelle Buteau, calls them to the penthouse to read the final results. “Jennifer” ends up in fifth place, “Tamira” in fourth (I guess it doesn’t pay to be a catfish, does it?), while Raven finishes third.

So who took home the big $100,000 check? The lady in the leopard print, Sam. (Cue the screaming, tears and a very emotional zoom to her family at home!)
