The Celtics went 2-1 against the Heat in the regular season.

“Another extremely physical team,” said Jayson Tatum. “Obviously very well trained. We played them in the Conference Finals two years ago, so we’re just looking forward to it. Excited to be back in that position and trying to get over that hump.

Jaylen Brown has been asked why he thinks this Celtics team could be coming out of the east for the first time since 2010. This is Brown’s fourth trip to the Conference Finals since the Celtics drafted him in 2016.

“This is the group that I think is ready enough to do it,” Brown said. “I feel like we’re preparing for everything that we’ve overcome, all of these struggles and challenges and adversities that we’ve been through this season as well as the challenge that we just had when we defeated the defending champion are. I think we are ready to take the next step.

“We just have to go out there and take it. I know Miami is a team waiting for us. They won’t give in, they won’t give up. And neither do we. So I’m looking forward to it.”
