The first Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer anime trailer looks incredibly concerning

The upcoming Lucifer and the cookie hammer The anime adaptation received its first-ever trailer, and sadly, it seems like many fans who were worried about the production of the series were spot on.

The Lucifer and Cookie Hammer, also known as hoshi no samidare, is pretty much a legendary manga that was regularly discussed on anime blogs over a decade ago. No one expected anime to ever exist, and those hopes were dashed even more when the original manga ended years ago. And yet an anime was announced this March that will allow a new generation to explore what makes the series so original and engaging.

Hoshi no Samidare got its first trailer and it’s pretty unattractive

The original Lucifer and Cookie Hammer Manga has a lot of action scenes that might look appealing to a new audience, and yet this trailer doesn’t take advantage of that at all. While we see one of the moments where protagonist Yuuhi is first confronted with a life-or-death situation, there is no tension and no sakuga.

And to be honest, that’s not surprising. Many fans, myself included, were skeptical when the anime was first announced, thinking this might just be a quick cash grab for milk fans of the manga and the few newcomers that might get sucked in. Assuming someone new is even watching it as a trailer, it doesn’t even bother to introduce the series to newcomers outside of its narrative.

Coupled with the anime industry’s recurring production issues and how many shows these days tend to completely collapse in production to the point where they’re delayed for entire seasons, that doesn’t look good at all. We might just end up with a glorified voiced version of that Lucifer and Cookie Hammer rather than the anime everyone dreamed of.

The Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer Anime Release Date

Lucifer and the cookie hammer Anime will air on July 8, 2022. In the meantime, you can read or rediscover the manga with its English localization on Crunchyroll. It’s likely that we’ll be getting more trailers soon that will hopefully show a better side of the anime. The OP and ED anime sequences may also be revealed before the first episode airs. It’s best to keep an eye on the anime’s official Twitter and see what Studio NAZ has in store for us. The first Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer anime trailer looks incredibly concerning
