A social media user who was in the audience posted: “S Club concert at M&S Arena… fire alarms went off and everyone evacuated.”

“The problem was quickly resolved and we were able to restart the show. We will launch a full investigation.”

This came after the group were forced to cancel the first date in Liverpool, which was due to be the second gig of their reunion tour.

A statement from Jo O’Meara, Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett, Bradley McIntosh and Jon Lee said: “We are beyond shocked to inform you that today’s game in Liverpool will be postponed from the venue due to an unforeseen technical disruption Had to.” Problems may arise that affect the power supply and therefore your safety.

“We can’t express how sorry we are. Especially since we know so many of you have traveled long distances to join us this evening.”

S Club 7 became famous in 1998 and originally consisted of Jo, Rachel, Tina, Jon, Bradley, Hannah Spearritt and Paul Cattermole.

After Paul died of natural causes earlier this year, it was confirmed that his ex-girlfriend and former bandmate Hannah would not be taking part in the tour.
