The Good Doctor Recap: Season 6 Episode 10 – Shaun and Lea’s Baby – a Boy or a Girl?

dr and Mrs. Murphy can rest easy after Monday’s episode of The good doctor. After overcoming another pregnancy angst, Shaun and Lea found out You’re having a boy! But before they could decide on a paint color for the children’s room, Lea didn’t have to, she had to survive two intensive operations.

The winter premiere began with a surprising time jump. We found out that it had been three months since Lea discovered she was pregnant. She had reached the end of her first trimester when we saw her checking in with her gynecologist, whose ultrasound showed a small, thinning area on Lea’s uterine wall. She was brought in for observation and then subjected to an experimental procedure to strengthen the wall. A second procedure was later required after a uterine artery had adhered to scar tissue and actually ruptured. If Shaun hadn’t allowed his wife, she could have died. Luckily we don’t have to think about it. We can bask in the news that Lea and the baby will be fine.

* Surprise, surprise: Perez survived his drug overdose. Fresh out of rehab, he was allowed to resume his probationary residency under the supervision of Senior Resident Jordan. But working with the woman he has feelings for proved difficult, and after they closed their first case together — yes, it was House‘s Anne Dudek (aka “Cutthroat Bitch” Amber Volakis), who plays the mother of Gardner Syndrome patient Drew #StealthCasting – Perez told Jordan he will be requesting a new senior resident.

* Lim’s spinal surgery was successful and she is no longer paralyzed. By the beginning of the episode, she was back on her feet, using a walking stick, and contemplating Clay’s pre-op suggestion. The boss eventually decided that she wasn’t ready to get married, but she was ready to take the next step in their relationship. She asked Clay to move in with her and he said yes.

* Morgan’s IVF journey is well underway. Ex-boyfriend Park offered to drive Morgan to her implant appointment, but she declined. Instead, she hired Dr. Glassman as her chauffeur.
