The Kardashians Season 3 premiere recap: Kim and Kourtney put Khloe in the middle
love her or hate her The Kardashians are back for Season 3. America’s most famous family is back on Hulu doing what they do best: filming for profit the never-ending drama that unfolds in their lives together. Sure, family ethics are downright problematic. But since when do we watch TV to see good examples of morality?
A lot has happened in the Kardashian universe since the last few episodes. Kim Kardashian is a single woman again and still dealing with the endless nonsense of her ex-husband Kanye West. Kourtney Kardashian it’s still going the most even though she’s now officially married to Travis Barker. And unfortunately, Khloe Kardashian I still can’t get a break. Here are five key takeaways from The Kardashians season 3 premiere episode: “Can’t Everyone Get Their Shit Together?”
Kourtney needs a tranquilizer
Kourtney may be a married woman, but she’s still doing the best in every aspect of her life. She and Travis can’t keep their hands off each other. During a scene where Khloe visits her home, the couple apologize for “five minutes” because Kourtney was ovulating that day. TMI to max. At least Scott Disick is back on our screens for some much-needed comedic respite from Kourtney’s PDA.
Kourtney also decided to break into season three by burning her family. She mentions more than once that while the Kardashian Klan is good at celebrating victories, they’re not particularly good at grieving together. “I don’t think we know on a deeper level how to be there for each other,” Kourtney told her sister. Khloe had a completely different opinion as she had experienced many lows and felt the support of her family along the way. In fact, Khloe pointed out that Kourtney wasn’t as supportive after Khloe brought her second baby home from the hospital and struggled.
Kourtney’s behavior coupled with her argument with Kim gives her a new vibe that I don’t like. Now that she’s in her love bubble, Kourtney feels like she feels better than her other family members. To be clear, nobody wants to watch a show where you and Travis fuck each other dry for 42 minutes. Kourt had better be nice to her sisters if she wants to keep living off the collective family fortune.
Khloe’s bad luck continues
Speaking of Khloe’s new baby, it wasn’t all a dreamy fairy tale after his birth. In fact, most of us could probably expect that from any woman co-parenting children with Tristan Thompson, but Khloe’s stress is independent of him this time. Khloe had a hard time connecting with her second child, who she gave birth to through a surrogate, unlike her first child, who she gave birth to herself. “I wish someone would be honest about surrogacy and the difference in it,” Khloe said. “It’s such a transactional experience.” Khloe acknowledged the positives, but it was refreshing to see someone explain the reality of having a child through surrogacy.
Khloe revealed she named the baby Tatum, which sounds cute next to True Thompson. The show tried to make it a real bombshell, but I honestly can’t keep track of all the celebrity babies whose names we still haven’t found out. Everyone kept joking about how the baby looked just like Rob Kardashian, so it sounded like Khloe almost thought more of naming it after her brother. As Khlo$ said, naming a human is difficult.
Khloe not only had to adjust to being a mother of two, but also suffered from health issues. A biopsy revealed a cancerous spot on her face. It was the third time Khloe had contracted melanoma, but this time it’s rarer. Khloe will need a piece of her face removed, and doctors won’t know how much until she’s under the knife. “When it rains, it pours,” Khloe said. “I like that side of my face better anyway.” It’s heartening to see Khloe staying positive in her life despite all the setbacks. Khloe needs a day playing pranks with Scott to lift her spirits, and I’m sure fans wouldn’t mind watching them relive their old antics either.
We need less Kendall, more Kylie
Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner filmed their contracted premiere scene on the go. Kendall tried to teach Kylie to drive a stick shift car, which was cute in theory. As always, Kylie provided all the humor. She stalled the car several times, nearly fell, and yelled for several minutes that the car had three pedals. “I’m pretty good at mechanical shit,” Kylie said. yeah ok girl
Kendall, on the other hand, is a wet blanket. It’s hard not to be startled by watching her indulge in her mood of being “not like the other girls.” Later in the episode, Kendall hosted an 818 Tequila event, which was the least successful marketing tactic of all time. Despite the robots and jetpacks, Kendall just isn’t an invigorating personality. She acts more as if the party is a commitment to YOUR BRAND rather than a business venture, and the apathy is plain to see. We need more of King Kylie channeling her Tumblr days and less of Kendall acting like a pick-me-up. We should have had Kris Jenner try to teach Kylie how to drive a manual car, that would be pure comedy.
A sisterly storm is brewing
The most interesting storyline the Kardashians could ever offer is the tension between Kim and Kourtney. Die-hard fans know that there has always been a fight between the two. Let’s not forget their infamous fistfight on Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The premiere set the stage by discussing Kim’s upcoming collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana. Kim told Kris that she was concerned it would be too close to Kourtney’s D&G-sponsored wedding. However, both company leaders were aware that this was an opportunity not to be missed. Famous Last Words.
Kourtney also spoke to Khloe about feeling left out of the trio of sisters. She felt that while she and Khloe were growing apart, Khloe and Kim had developed a closer bond since their marriage. Kourt made it clear that she and Khloe will always be soul mates, but it’s clearly a trigger for her. “Obviously, Kim could never be as funny as I am,” Kourtney said. Kourtney and Khloe had planned a date with her sister to pay tribute to her old-fashioned Miami lifestyle, but it’s clearly a band-aid for a deeper wound. I can already tell that Khlo$ will be in the middle of this mess like she needs more nonsense on her plate.
Kim can feel the Kanye in everything
As anyone with an Instagram account knows, Kim had a lot to do with filming Season 3. Kanye has spoken about her online, in interviews, and in front of anyone who wants to hear. He claimed his vendetta against Kim and Kris was to “protect” his children from harm from things like Kim’s sex tape. However, both women believe he has done more damage.
Kim’s stress was through the roof during the episode. She suffered from anxiety attacks and flare-ups of psoriasis. Kim said she didn’t respond publicly to avoid causing more harm to the children, which is difficult. “We remain silent despite all the lies,” Kim said. “For once, can everyone around me pull themselves together so I can lose my nerve? Just once.” She also mentioned that Kanye was the person who started the rumor that she was having an affair with Drake during their marriage.
Kim also brought up how difficult it was to cheer for Kanye like that for the kids during all the chaos. She mentioned that whenever she drove around, the kids always wanted to sing Kanye’s songs. “I’m dying inside,” Kim said. She also worried about seeing all of Kanye’s harmful words as they get older and how she’s going to have to deal with them. Kim has many privileges, but I don’t envy her co-parenting situation, and I don’t think anyone ever would. Unfortunately for this family, the drama is just beginning.
