‘The most rewarding job’: Canadian doctor who has put over 400 to sleep boasts at seminar on assisted suicide

Euthanasia specialists Stefanie Green and Ellen Wiebe announced in reports that they personally euthanized over 300 and 400 people, respectively the new Atlantis and the Daily Mail.

Wiebe spoke at a seminar about many of their procedures, including a situation where a man was rejected by the Medical Assistance in Dying program but he found his way to Wiebe, who then evacuated him, flew him out and put him to sleep.

The man had no serious illness or “the ability to make informed decisions about his own personal health.”

“Most of the MAID is done by people like me who have become specialists in MAID,” Wiebe said at the seminar, adding that “it’s the most rewarding work we’ve ever done.”

Wiebe declined an interview about her statements in the seminar; However, she responded with a comment: “It’s rare for reviewers to have patients with unmet needs, but it does happen. Usually those unmet needs revolve around loneliness and poverty.”

“Since all Canadians have the right to euthanasia, people who are lonely or poor also have those rights,” she added.

Stefanie Green, a doctor specializing in euthanasia from British Columbia, Canada, told New Atlantis that “offering the option of assisted dying is one of the most therapeutic things we do.”

Green has found the job easier over time. “Writing scripts and getting deadly drugs and driving around town” is no longer a shocking ordeal for her, she says, noting that “it’s weirdly okay for [her] to do that.”

Green, a former midwife, compares childbirth to euthanasia in her book. This is euthanasia,” to see similarities between the two “deliveries.”

“Both ‘deliveries,’ as I call them, invite me to one of the most intimate moments in people’s lives.”

Green also assured her interviewer that the MAID process is “100% effective.”

According to the Daily Mail, 486 people used California’s assisted suicide program in 2021, while the MAID program assisted in the deaths of 10,064 Canadians in the same year.

When comparing MAID numbers from 2021 to 2020, the number of people using the service increased by nearly 2,500. The number of people euthanized in Canada has increased every year since 2016, with over 31,000 deaths over the five years.
