The most shocking moments yet in Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s bitter divorce battle

Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciaks first meeting with her future husband, Kroy Bierman, happened at a charity event. Kim eyed Kroy’s butt while shaking his moneymaker at the Dancing Stars of Atlanta event.

The couple tied the knot in an extravagant, televised wedding on November 11, 2011. Their celebration was featured on the series Don’t be late for the wedding. The family’s exploits continued for eight seasons Don’t be late.

But now the couple’s relationship has gone up in flames. Let’s take a look at the most shocking moments of their divorce battle so far.

No money, more problems

Kroy and Kim had money problems. gasp! Even Andy Cohen was worried about the Biermanns’ financial security. On April 11, 2023, the couple was put on a tax lien on their property. Kim and Kroy owe the IRS $1,147,834.67.

At the beginning of the year, the Biermann family home was almost sold at a public auction. Now the couple faces a second lien for $15,104.72 in back taxes. Ouch!

But Kim has found a bright spot in her closet. She has a website, Biermann’s Closet, where she sells her luxury handbags. Kroy and Kim’s eldest daughters, Brielle Biermann and Ariana Biermann, also sell their wares. If you want one of Kroy’s incredibly crumpled t-shirts, your dreams could come true. Kim also has a “Salon” section where she sells her wigs. So, in the immortal words of NeNe Leakes, “Bye wig!”

Dueling divorce petitions

When news broke of her staggering tax bill, Kim filed for divorce from her ex-husband, an NFL player. The court documents state: RHOA Alum gave April 30, 2023 as the date of the couple’s split. Kim filed for primary custody of their four children, as well as joint custody. She asked for spousal maintenance.

Kroy also filed for divorce on the same day as Kim. According to the legal documents, Kroy filed on May 8, 2023. Kroy’s documents mention that their four children, Kroy, Kash, Kane, and Kaia, are in his care. He demanded sole biological and sole custody of their children. I’m sure Kim threw her wig because of this message.

Kroy’s wish list continued as he asked his estranged wife for temporary and permanent child support. And he also demanded that Kim be “prevented and barred from returning to the marriage after they move out.” Good luck with that, Kroy!

None of the comforts of home

Now Kim and Kroy are trying to live in the same house while avoiding each other. Sounds funny! I’m sure there is no animosity about the upcoming custody battle that is sure to take place.

Kim planned to leave Kroy for a while

Two sources told People that Kim planned the split before news of her million-dollar back taxes broke. “She hadn’t told anyone, not even the family. She didn’t tell anyone, even friends were kept in the dark,” said an insider who is friends with Kim. “The money was a problem.”

The second source confirmed that the couple’s money problems were a major issue in their relationship. “There is no cheating on either side. The money has a lot to do with the breakup, but there were other factors as well.” The source added, “They’re a very close-knit family and it’s not easy for any of the kids.”

Is Kroy a danger to her children?

This divorce is getting worse. Now Kim has accused her estranged husband of allegedly being a danger to their children. In court documents, Kim claimed that Kroy’s alleged marijuana use made her concerned about Kroy’s ability to care for her children. Kim has requested that a judge order Kroy to take a five-step hair follicle drug test. And Kroy can’t cut any of his luscious locks until the test is complete.

Gambling Gal

It wasn’t long before Kroy hit back at Kim. He decided that sharing financial reports with the world would be a good idea. The reason? To show Kim’s insane spending spree and her alleged gambling problem.

Don’t Be Tardy fans have witnessed Kim’s extravagant shopping habits. The legal documents said the former RHOA star had “expended significant time and spousal funds in gambling and other gambling.” The court documents went on to say, “This coercion left the parties financially drained.” The legal documents also allege that the children are not being cared for properly because “[Kim’s] Online gambling takes so much time.”

a clip 2014’s Don’t Be Tardy featured Kim declaring her love of gambling. “I love to gamble but there is no casino here in Georgia so the only way to get my thrills is by buying scratch cards.”

During the spin-off’s third season, Kim traveled to the Bahamas, where she caused a stir in the casinos. “I suffered a really big loss last time I was in the Bahamas…about a quarter of a million dollars. A lot of money. Yes, crazy, and I never went back.”

Kroy wants Kim to do a psychiatric evaluation

According to Kroy’s legal documents that he has filed, he would like his estranged wife to do some psychological testing. “This coercion has ruined the parties financially,” according to the documents relating to Kim’s gambling activities. Kroy also requested that Kim be tested for other medical conditions. These disorders include bipolar disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, and depression. Wow. This divorce is a tough one to deal with and I’m writing about it right now.

We keep our fingers crossed for the children of the Biermanns who are now caught up in this divorce chaos. Perhaps Kroy and Kim can find an amicable solution for the sake of their children. But the way things are going, that looks doubtful.
