The popular Coronation Street star hints at an exit from the soap as she looks for roles in Call The Midwife and Ten Pound Poms
CORONATION Street favorite Lisa George has fueled speculation she could be axed from the soap after admitting she has other roles in mind.
The star, who plays Beth Sutherland in the ITV soap, said she was waiting to hear whether she would be offered another contract on the show.

Lisa joined the show back in 2011 and has been a central figure at Weatherfield ever since.
But could Beth’s days be numbered?
Her Wedding Kirk has been under pressure since the start of the year after Beth secretly met up with her handsome ex Marco to find out if they were still connected.
It led to the breakup of the once strong couple when Kirk discovered their deception.
However, they have since managed to patch things up, but could their marriage still be in jeopardy due to her character’s possible exit?
Chat with the Daily Star about you Future On the show, Lisa seemed to hint that it was uncertain.
She admitted to the publication that she was “just waiting to hear if I got another contract.”
Lisa’s current contract keeps her on the show until Christmas.
Lisa decided that getting a role in the BBC’s favorite series Call The Midwife would be ideal next move for her.
The actress said: “I am really interested in war issues because my grandfather talked about the war all the time. That’s why I would like to do a drama set in the 1940s. Or something set in the 60s would be great.”
“I would like to do Call the Midwife.”
She then confessed that she would like to follow in her former co-star Michelle Keegan’s footsteps and work on Ten Pound Poms.
Lisa added: “I saw Ten Pound Poms and loved it. A role in something like that would be great.”
It seems she is determined to appear in a retro show, further commenting: “I would love to do something like that. I like my vintage dramas and stuff like that, maybe a 1940s drama, more war stuff.”
Aside from Coronation Street, Lisa has also made a name for herself on ITV’s reality shows with an impressive appearance on the popular 2020 edition of Dancing on Ice.
She also showed off her singing when she competed on All Star Musicals.
But if it’s a new acting challenge the star is taking on, you can almost guarantee it’s going to be a nod to the past.
