The show foreshadows the tragic death of Famous

Power Book III: Raise Kanan depicts the teenage years of Kanan Stark (Mekai Curtis). The series is set in Queens, New York in the 1990s. Kanan is raised by his drug queen mother, Raquel “Raq” Thomas (Patina Miller). His uncles Marvin (London Brown) and Lou (Malcolm Mays) and his cousin Jukebox (Hailey Kilgore) are also important figures in his life.
Kanan’s best friend, Famous (Anthony Ortiz), is also a fixture in his world. But the show could foreshadow Famous’s tragic death.

Kanan’s best friend is famous in “Power Book III: Raising Kanan”
Despite what’s going on around him, Shawn “Famous” Figueroa is boisterous and carefree. He has always been Kanan’s best friend and although his career has stalled, he is desperate to make it big in the music industry.
According to Starz’s official character description, “Famous is fiercely loyal to Kanan the Thomas
Family and South Jamaica, Queens.”
Let’s just hope Famous’s loyalty doesn’t cost him his life.

The show foreshadows the death of Famous
perfomance Fans will recall that adult Kanan (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson) had a son named Shawn (Sinqua Walls). We can only assume that Kanan named his only child after Famous. Besides the name, Famous is above all innocent. When he saw Kanan pistol whip someone for the first time in episode 206, he was horrified. As we know in the perfomance Universe, from Raina to Zeke, most innocent people meet a tragic end.
“Here’s the thing about the big deaths at the end of the season, so at the beginning of the season we’re like, ‘Who are the innocents?'” perfomance said creator Courtney Kemp during an Instagram Live in February 2022. “I know that sounds awful, but when you think about it, if you’re a hardcore perfomance Fan, when you look back, we always assume someone’s innocent. Because the reality of the drug game is that people get hurt. There is collateral damage. The bad guys don’t always get hurt. They hurt viewers all the time, so that’s an important thing. In episodes eight, nine or ten, we’re actually going to kill someone who is innocent.”

Will Palomar have anything to do with Famous’s death in Power Book III: Raising Kanan?
Now that Famous has moved out of his mother’s house, he lives alone in an apartment. However, his new neighbor Palamor (KJ Smith) and her young daughter seem to be interested in both Famous and Kanan. We’re not entirely sure what their motives are just yet, but so far, Palomar has raised several red flags. She is a grown woman who has openly flirted with Kanan and kissed him. She also gave him a gun when he was looking for a knife.
“One of Famous’s new neighbors, Palomar, is a young mother who is often mistaken for her daughter, Corinne’s older sister,” reports Deadline. “Any responsible parent would not put their daughter within a mile of Kanan, Famous and their friends, but Palomar is not that parent.”
Whatever Palomar is up to, she’s definitely giving us bad vibes. Hopefully Famous won’t be confused with that.
