Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Reverend Richard Coles has undergone spinal surgery.
The popular TV star and retired priest, 61, shared a picture of his legs in compression socks before his procedure.
His X, earlierHer followers were surprised to see him but sent him warm greetings.
One wrote: “Good luck, I hope everything goes well and you feel much better soon.”
Another said: “Good luck with whatever gets fixed.”
A third posted: “I didn’t know I was going to have surgery. I wish you all the best.”
Everything seemed to be going well and Richard soon updated her from his recovery room.
“Well, I totally understand Michael Jackson’s propofol,” he joked, referring to the King of Pop’s addiction to strong medication before his death.
He continued: “Feeled a bit dazedI knew I was in recovery with an improved spine (not pictured) and had a lovely dream about airships.
Richard, 61, who took part in Strictly in 2017, lost his partner Reverend David Coles three and a half years ago, aged 43, after a battle with alcoholism.

He continued to tell it Sunday Times that his new relationship is with 58-year-old Dickie Cant, son of the late actor and Play Away host Brian.
According to the Strictly star, it was Dickie who made the first move after sending him a hello wave on the website, which is aimed at people who are “serious about dating”.
The couple enjoyed a first date at a Royal Horticultural Society and the rest is over.
He said his new love interest wasn’t bothered by fame and, in turn, he wasn’t bothered by Dickie’s atheism either.
