Prince Harry and Meghan Markle showed a subtle body language hint that they were keen to leave their recent gig with Prince William and Kate Middleton, a body language expert explains.
Prince Harry’s feet indicated he and Meghan Markle were about to exit Windsor Castle tour, says an expert
On September 10, Harry and Meghan made a surprise appearance with William and Kate at Windsor Castle. The couples arrived together in the same car, viewed the tributes left by Queen Elizabeth after her death and spoke to a crowd that had gathered.
At the end of the performance, they prepared to leave and waved goodbye to the crowd of well-wishers one last time.
A body language expert pointed out a small gesture that showed Harry and Meghan’s desire to leave as soon as possible.
Jesús Enrique Rosas shared his analysis The Body Language Guy YouTube channel pointing out something that might otherwise have gone unnoticed.
“Remember that feet never lie, even if they have to stand by royal protocol,” Rosas said while analyzing a photo of the Fab Four.
“There is a big difference between [Kate and William] and [Harry and Meghan]. It’s like Harry wants to walk away,” Rosas remarked. “Both women have almost exactly the same feet, but Harry’s feet are spaced apart from the Prince and Princess of Wales. He wants to go.”
Rosas said foot placement can be very revealing. “You can’t help but notice the comparison between the two couples, and one of the most telling factors in terms of body language in a picture is the feet because you’re not going to be moving them all the time,” he explains.
“Right now they’re just standing, so Harry’s feet are saying that [they] wanted to leave as soon as possible,” added Rosas.

Rosas also provided his analysis of each person and pointed out some tensions he discovered. “Hands-wise, we can see that Catherine was a bit tense at that moment,” he explained. “You can see she had her hands quite tense at that moment… as they were about to leave.”
“It’s nice that William was more relaxed at that moment,” Rosas said, also pointing out Kate’s “real smile.”
Meghan’s hands also looked tense in the photo as she hesitated to wave. “Her hands, especially her right hand, were particularly tense and it was that arm that Harry was touching at that moment,” Rosas said. “She was tense, very tense. Even the muscles in her forearm jump.”
Kate Middleton didn’t make eye contact with Meghan Markle during her performance
Body language expert Dr. Lillian Glass shared her analysis of the look with Page Six. Both pointed out that Kate never made eye contact with Meghan at all.
“Although William was a little more cordial, he was still serious [Meghan] and didn’t flash his usual megawatt smile,” Glass noted. “Kate even refused to look at or in her direction at Meghan.”
Glass continued, “She was real. She didn’t have the heart to smile at Meghan, so she didn’t.”
In contrast, Glass said Meghan “looked like a sad and distressed puppy as she repeatedly tried to catch Kate’s gaze. But Kate didn’t have any of it.”
